 VoIP Special Features: Toolbar and Reception Console

Toolbar

The Toolbar is for users of Microsoft Outlook® and Internet Explorer®. It integrates into the menu bars so that you can make and accept telephone calls and change telephone settings from within Outlook and Internet Explorer.

Using the Toolbar, you can:

  • Make phone calls to specific individuals
  • Transfer to inbound ringing calls Voice Mail
  • Add Outlook Contact vCards for new incoming callers
  • See who is calling based on contacts in Directories and Outlook Contacts
  • Easily change your telephony service settings such as Call Forward All, Call Forward No Answer, Call Forward Busy, Do Not Disturb, Remote Office, Web Express, VM User, Logged-in Status
  • View your Group/Personal Directories
  • View your Call History

Reception Console

The TelPack Reception Console is an integrated interface to your VoicePoint telephony system. It is for receptionists or telephone attendants to screen inbound calls.

The console features:

  • An ergonomic design that follows the natural work “flow” of a call from the top to the bottom of the screen.
  • Improved processes: only “valid” options are presented to the attendant.
  • More professional call handling by making critical information available in “real time”.
  • One-step, accurate delivery of messages.

Benefits:

Ergonomic Work Flow
The “flow” of work from the top to the bottom of the screen results in more efficient distribution of calls, and hence a greater call handling capacity. Information is added when needed, including identification of the calling and called party and alternate contacts. Once a contact is selected, only the viable hand-off avenues are presented, all other methods are simply “dulled out”.

Phone / Contact Status
By showing the status of a contact, the Reception Console saves time by eliminating transfers and calls to people that are on the phone, are away from their phone, or have indicated they do not wish to be disturbed.

Call Control
The friendly interface makes call management a breeze. Once answered, a call can be managed via simple controls that allow you to place a call on hold and handle it according to business rules.

Customizable Interface
Many phone systems have extensive features that go unused because users either do not know they exist or they are too complex to set-up. With the Reception Console, the possibilities of IP telephony are far more accessible because of the intuitive look and feel, its single interface, and its support for additional application interfaces.

Caller Identification
The Reception Console checks the incoming number to identify the calling party so that you can prioritize calls.

Call History
The Reception Console keeps a record of all calls made and taken for contact management and tracking. It provides PBX/office administrators the ability to download call statistics into industry standard CSV (comma separated values) files for reporting and/or graphing packages like Crystal reports or MS Excel. This export feature obviates the need for specific PBX reporting software, further reducing costs to you.

Industry Standard Interfaces
The Reception Console is built to support industry standard technologies. The architecture is a robust Service Provider solution that leverages tried and tested components. This is important for administrators, as it will coexist in most standard network environments.

Integration to Touch Screen
For high call handling areas including dedicated enterprise and corporate switchboards, the Reception Console integrates easily into commercially available touch screens. A touch screen provides for even faster handling of calls in those high volume environments.

Assured Reliability
The Reception Console's design and network architecture ensures excellent reliability. Even if there's a problem with the Console, telephone calls will still get through.
